- What is Webaroo for mobile devices?

Webaroo for mobile devices lets you access web content on the go. All you need is a phone that supports Java MIDP 2.0 applications and has a GPRS connection (wireless data plan).

- How do I download and update content?

GPRS should be enabled on your phone to download and update content. Once you connect to the Internet through Webaroo on your phone, you can download content which is optimized for viewing on your mobile device.

- What is the type of content that can be accessed?

Webaroo has web services like Gmail, Orkut, weather reports and many more to choose from. You can also choose from over a 100 web packs. Apart from that you can subscribe to RSS feeds of your favorite web sites.

- Does Webaroo work on all mobile phones?

Not yet. It currently works on all phones that provide support for Java MIDP 2.0 applications.

- What is the average size of a web pack?

Average size of a web pack would be about 50-70 KB. Some packs may be larger. You can view the size of a pack while it downloads.

- Can multiple users use a service like Gmail or Orkut from the same phone?

Yes. You need to select the Settings tab and change the user id to access another email account.

- Is Webaroo for mobile device free?

Yes. Although you will require a wireless data plan (GPRS connection), to download and use Webaroo. Typically, mobile phone service providers give this service for a fee. Please check the same

Webaroo - How to Use

Starting the Webaroo Mobile Application

Once you install Webaroo on your device, you can access it through the main menu or the applications menu of mobile device. When Webaroo starts on your mobile device, your library appears.

The library displays the content that is currently saved on your device. If you are using Webaroo for the first time, you may not see any content in your library.



Adding Content

  1. Select Add from your Library. You see a list of available content.
  2. Use your mobile device joystick or stylus to select and download content.

Once a pack or service is downloaded, you can access it from your library.



Using Web Services

Webaroo lets you access your Orkut and Gmail accounts, get weather reports of your city, as well as search for Flickr images. These services are optimized for your mobile device and may have only limited features.

With time a lot more web services will be added to Webaroo.



Updating Content

  1. Using your mobile device joystick, highlight the content you want to update.
  2. Select Options, and then select Update. You can select Update All if you wish to update all your content.

Note: You need GPRS (wireless data) connection to update content.



Deleting Content

  1. Using your mobile device joystick, highlight the content you want to delete.
  2. Select Options, and then select Delete.


Setting Preferences

To change the preferences for Webaroo on your mobile device, select Options, and then select My Preferences.
